About

About us

The SA Branch membership is predominantly employed in radiotherapy, either with the public health service (operating from two centres) or the Adelaide Radiotherapy Centre (operating from 3 centres). Members in nuclear medicine and radiology are expected to grow substantially in the near future as new positions within the public health system are created.

Recent activities

The SA Branch of ACPSEM has close ties with ARPS, with a number of members being a member of both organisations. In August, Martin Caon, Wendy Tuckwell and Kent Gregory represented the work done by medical physicists at a free public science expo via a booth space purchased by ARPS. Thousands of visitors passed through the booth learning about radiation and its various applications, including medicine.

Upcoming events

Jason Morton from the SA Branch committee is working on a proposal to develop and run a short course on planning system modelling. It is expected that the course will be held over 2 days, and give participants exposure to modelling on Pinnacle and Xio. More details available soon.
