Regular Conferences run by the ACPSEM

EPSM- ABEC

The College regularly holds an annual gathering  of colleagues and friends associated with the physical sciences and engineering in the teaching, research and clinical application to medicine.  The Engineering &  Physical Sciences in Medicine (EPSM) conference in 2005 incorporated the inaugural Australian Biomedical Engineering Conference (hosted by the College of Biomedical Engineers which is part of Engineers Australia) in Adelaide and was a huge success.  Since then this combination has been a regular event - hence the regular use now of the EPSM-ABEC acronym!

Each year the EPSM-ABEC is held in a different city, either in New Zealand or Australia.  For latest details on the current year's conference follow this link  http://www.epsmabec2011.org/ or see the main advertisement on the home page.

This year's conference will be held in Darwin for more infomation please follow this link http://www.epsmabec2011.org/

CSM

Not another acronym!  This one stands for Combined Scientific Meeting.  In 2009 the ACPSEM was invited to be involved in the regular conference held by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) and the Australian Institute of Radiography.  With the combination of the three groups this meeting will be the largest and most significant of its kind ever in Australia.  The theme of the meeting is Collaboration: Working and Learning Together providing a multidisciplinary educational environment and unique opportunity for interprofessional education.  Shared learning and teamwork are beneficial to patient care through enhanced professional  working relationships and it is embodied by the cooperative arrangement to host  the conference by the three professional groups - ACPSEM, AIR and the RANZCR.  Follow this link for more information:  www.csm2009.com

Other Conferences and Events

At regular intervals the ACPSEM is informed of other professional opportunities, whether they be conferences run by affiliated societies, one -off events or courses.  Some are endorsed by the ACPSEM for CPD points but not all are.  If the ACPSEM considers them of interest to its membership they are listed in the Events Calendar (see What's On/Events).
