Our recent member survey produced some interesting feedback......... A big "thank you" to those (over 30% of the membership) who responded with thoughtful feedback. Well, what have we done with the responses? Firstly the general trends were discussed at the March 21 Strategic Planning meeting held in Sydney this year. I then sent the summary and detailed comments to all Branch chairs, specialty group and accreditation panel chairs, as well as specific people such as the Journal editor, and so on. The SurveyMonkey tool is terrific for its ease of use and so we certainly will re-subscribe to this service in order to keep in touch with our members thoughts and needs. You will also note a few polls/tools on this website for logging your thoughts and providing feedback. What sort of member feedback did we receive? Well, a few people requested a website discussion forum to encourage professional discussions similar to the AAPM list. This would be away from the email list that we use. Even though we have tried this before on our old website, with not much success, we have still set up the structure for this, and we can do it for specific interest groups - for just the radiology members, for example. You won't see the structure for it just yet but you can be assured that it is happening behind the scenes. A few people also indicated an interest in having a series of presentations, such as talks by eminent professionals, being available online. This is also planned via our online learning tool. We are trialling a few modules within the Radiation Oncology Training area and we will then expand into other areas. Online quizzes have been set up and they will go up in the CPD area. We are also looking at getting conference sessions online - they may be a bit pricey but possible. What else have we had requests for via the member survey? RSS feed in the News and website updates - Yep, we are looking at this. Monthly email updates to members on Council and Specialty news items. Yes to that also; we have an email newsletter template that will provide the College to be able to send regular bulletins to all the membership, or specific groups. These can come direct from the office or from branches. We would like to thank the following ACPSEM members for contributing photographs to the website:Mr John Burrage (ROYAL PERTH HOSPITAL) Dr Sean Geoghegan (ROYAL PERTH HOSPITAL) Mr Thomas Tuchyna (SIR CHARLES GAIRDNER HOSPITAL) Mr Wen Chuan-Dong (ROYAL HOBART HOSPITAL) If you are a member of ACPSEM and have images you would like us to consider for inclusion on the website, please send them in the following format(s): Send them to the ACPSEM General Manager, Carol James at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Of course, what happens on this website is only as good as the input from the membership. Like any association of professional members it requires a diversity of input to create the collegiate environment that benefits most, if not all. So don't just wait for it to happen for you - get involved! |
