| ACPSEM Register of Qualified Medical Physics Specialists |
|
The ACPSEM Register of Qualified Medical Physics Specialists (the Register) is intended to guard against unsafe, incompetent and unethical practice in Medical Physics. While not legally required in Australia and New Zealand, it is the position of the ACPSEM that all Medical Physicists, excluding Medical Physics registrars, should be listed on the Register. To this end, we recommend that registration be listed as an essential criterion for all new Medical Physics Specialist positions. All staff currently employed at this level should be encouraged to join the Register. Four active categories of registration exist: Unlimited 1, Unlimited 2, Limited 2 and Limited 3. Unlimited categories are considered to be equivalent to ACPSEM Certification. The limited categories are not considered to be equivalent to ACPSEM certification but are designed to show that physicists in this category can safely practise in Australia and New Zealand for the time of their registration. To apply to the Register please download the Registration Requirements for the Register of Qualified Medical Physics Specialists and complete an Application Form for Admission to the Register of Qualified Medical Physics Specialists.
