Workshop details:
Following a successful workshop and strong attendance a while ago, recent community encouragement and demand have prompted us to offer the workshop again in July 2026.
This full-day event will cover comprehensive risk assessment methods for complex clinical and industry settings. It will include perspectives from Radiation Safety Officers, Regulators, RPAs, RPOs, CREs, and senior medical physicists. The workshop will provide expert guidance on employee safety, referral processes for radiation safety assessments, and government advisory support. Participants will engage in group scenarios and role-plays, presenting solutions to an expert audience for immediate feedback.
The course will cover the following:
The course will examine the corporate approach to risk matrices, including consequences, likelihood, and risk ratings, and their application to radiation risk assessment. Participants will develop workplace-specific radiation risk matrices and learn to conduct expert-level risk assessments. The course also encourages high-stakes conversations in radiation safety with key stakeholders.
We encourage participants to submit recent or past radiation risk assessments (RRAs) in a manuscript to include the following:
- Abstract 150 words
- Background / Context: Define the current gap in advanced radiation risk management (e.g., integrating new modalities like Theranostics or managing complex compliance frameworks).
- Objectives: State exactly what the assessment aims to achieve for senior leaders and TEAP registrars.
- Methods / Program Structure:
- Significance / Outcomes: Explain how this assessment improves operational safety, regulatory compliance, and corporate reporting metrics
The allocated time for selected presentations is usually 12 minutes. If you need more time, please explain why.
