Title: The great debate: “This house believes that reirradiation outcomes can only be improved with radiobiologic insights”
Bio: Prof Annette Haworth is an ACPSEM accredited medical physicist with more than 25 years hospital-based, clinical medical physics experience. Prof Haworth is the Director of the Institute of Medical Physics and the course director for the Master of Medical Physics course. Since August 2023 Prof Haworth has also held the conjoint role of Director, Radiation Oncology Medical Physics at Westmead and Blacktown Hospitals. Prof Haworth leads the BiRT research team and her research work includes the development of radiobiological models and advanced imaging techniques for biologically targeted radiation therapy.
Presenter: Dr Elizabeth Claridge Mackonis
Title: Five ESTRO posters in five minutes
Bio: Dr Claridge Mackonis is Deputy Head of Physics and Engineering at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse. She recently completed her PhD at the University of Sydney looking at how new technology and techniques are introduced into radiation oncology. She has published work in the areas of radiation therapy planning, breast radiation therapy, radiobiology and dosimetry.
