With the implementation of Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physics TEAP as a pathway for certification in Nuclear Medicine Physics, both the Nuclear Medicine Certification Panel, and the Radiology Certification Panel have merged under the one umbrella to form the Diagnostic Imaging Certification Panel (DICP).
Pathways to certification in Nuclear Medicine
- TEAP Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physics (Nuc Med)
This program started in early 2013 and replaces the older TEAP Nuclear Medicine program. Physicists commencing employment after 2011 will be required to undertake the DIMP TEAP process to become certified. Further information can be found under TEAP DIMP
- Certification of experienced Nuclear Medicine Physicists
A new pathway for certification of experienced Nuclear Medicine Medical Physicists is currently being developed by the DICP under the Professional Standards Board. We expect that this pathway will be available later in 2015. In the interim, experienced Medical Physicists in Nuclear Medicine are advised to apply for ACPSEM Qualified Medical Physicists registration. (Link to the QMP register forms etc)
Applications were closed under the old scheme for certification in Nuclear Medicine Physics at the end of 2010. This pathway will cease entirely at the end of 2017 when all current candidates including those enrolled in the Nuclear Medicine TEAP are expected to complete certification.
