In the rapidly evolving landscape of medical physics, the need for an adaptive and forward-thinking educational strategy is paramount. This project presents a comprehensive education strategy for a project that examines environmental drivers and informs subsequent updates to curriculum and CPD to ensure alignment with future professional skill requirements.
Assess environmental drivers: Identify the key significant environmental factors and areas that influence current and future professional skills requirements. Once key areas are decided, assign expert working groups, undertake research, consultation and privde recommendations for actions required.
Develop strategies required for each area of significance, this may include advocacy, stakeholder engagement, guidelines, and education needs.
Update Curriculum and CPD: Integrate findings into the curriculum, advance training modules and or CPD to ensure relevance and applicability to evolving professional demands.
The 2025 Workplan will include Education 2030 as an Activity. Over the course of the year, expectations include the convening of governance and expert working groups, defining research and question sets to be reported on, and recommendations and strategies for work to be undertaken on curriculum and CPD design over 2026/2027.
It is recognised that Project 2030 may identify a number of activities that are outside the funding scope of DoH funding. Thi can be managed through a) identifying as much as possible to the scope of funding related to education, and b) triaging non-fundable activities to college budget availability.
