Each year, ACPSEM runs a Mammography Testing Certification course for those who are keen to work in this area. The course is intended as an extension course in the specialised area of mammography testing for people who already have experience in X-ray equipment testing, have a good understanding of the physics of X-ray equipment, understand the requirements for testing in general, and are familiar with the test equipment and techniques. For this reason, participants are required to have a verifiable minimum of two years’ experience in general X-ray equipment testing, with some experience in digital mammography being desirable (discretion given to DIMP TEAP registrars). Course Structure:Pre-Workshop Assignment:All applicants will be required to complete pre-reading and assessment exercises before being admitted into the Workshop. The pre-workshop assignment aims to assess participants' background knowledge to ensure they will be able to suitably utilise the material presented in the workshop. This assignment is due 4 weeks after the participant is enrolled and provided with the assignment. 2 Day Workshop:The MTC workshop will run online across two weekends on Saturday 26th July 2025 (Day 1) and Sunday 3rd August 2025 (Day 2). It comprises 2 full days of lectures and practicals designed to review and reinforce ACPSEM/RANZCR testing procedures and follow-up. This is an opportunity to ask questions, seek feedback and address any concerns related to digital mammographic performance testing. Post-Workshop Assignment:Following attendance of the workshop, participants will be required to submit two assessments of mammography equipment designed to assess competency in completing mammography equipment tests to ACPSEM/RANZCR standards. Following the successful completion of the two equipment assessments, participants will then have an oral troubleshooting assessment. Applications OpenPlease complete the MTC application form and send to education@acpsem.org.au by 15 May 2025. Applications will be reviewed, and successful candidates will be enrolled onto the MTC course. Enrolled participants will be provided with online ALEX platform within 24 hours of their registration so that they can complete the Pre-Workshop Assignment before being admitted to the Workshop. |
