Medical Physics, Radiopharmaceutical Science and Biomedical Engineering are fields characterised by constant innovation and progress. The continuing professional development of our members is therefore a key priority for ACPSEM.
ACPSEM’s CPD program has been developed in line with other global health industry CPD standards to provide members with current, high-quality, and innovative learning and development opportunities so that they may solidify and adapt their skillsets and expertise to keep pace with innovations in their specialties as their careers progress. Developed under the leadership of ACPSEM's CPD Committee, the framework takes its shape from the Medical Board of Australia-led reforms to CPD for clinicians and is aligned with RANZCR’s interpretation of those requirements.
The ACPSEM CPD Program is a self-directed and self-reporting program. Participants are responsible for undertaking activities appropriate to their own continuing professional development and for claiming CPD with ACPSEM. Participants should choose activities that are in line with the ACPSEM framework and must record and reflect on them via the ACPSEM's official CPD Tracker tool.
The active and engaged participation of our members in the CPD Program is crucial to enforcing the clinical and professional relevancy of ACPSEM Registration beyond initial qualification; and to improving the standing, professional standards and safe practice of medical physicists, radiopharmaceutical scientists, and biomedical engineers in Australia and New Zealand.
ACPSEM's current CPD period began on 1st January 2022 and will end on 31st December 2024.
CPD Participation is mandatory for all those listed on the ACPSEM Register of Qualified Medical Physics Specialists and Radiopharmaceutical Scientists (The Register).
