The ROMP TEAP Resources Special Interest Group (RTRSIG)
Full details of the operation and structure of the RTRSIG can be found in the group’s Terms of Reference.
RTRSIG Mission
The ACPSEM ROMP TEAP Resources Special Interest Group (SIG) will facilitate all interested participants in the education of ROMP TEAP registrars to collaborate in the provision, management and use of high quality training materials; supporting efficiency and enhancing consistency in application of ROMP TEAP in a way that works within local clinical contexts.
RTRSIG Summary of Objectives
1. Support ROMP TEAP training by creating a peer-reviewed database of high-quality training materials to support in-house registrar training and low stakes assessment across the ROMP TEAP curriculum.
2. Reduce duplication of effort by trainers, supervisors and preceptors, by sharing training resources to improve consistency, efficiency and equity in TEAP training and allow users to benchmark local practices against other training clinics.
3. Develop training materials including items such as training plans, written or practical assignments, self-study guides, oral or written question banks and recorded tutorials/webinars.
4. Encourage contributions from all SIG members, including early or mid-career professionals and those newer to providing TEAP training or supervision.
5. Support professional development by offering collaboration, peer feedback and learning opportunities to both create and review training materials. CPD points will be available to members at all levels of involvement depending on their contribution, with guidance provided.
How to join the RTRSIG
The RTRSIG has three levels of membership depending on the amount of involvement members wish to have. For a full description of the roles please see the full RTRSIG Terms of Reference.
Interest Group
The RTRSIG is open to all ACPSEM members interested in ROMP TEAP training, including TEAP coordinators, preceptors, supervisors, trainers, registrars and other relevant professionals. Interest group membership will allow people to receive SIG updates and attend meetings, as well as contribute training materials to the database for review (and feedback).
To join the interest group members can login in to “My ACPSEM” and visit the “SG, SIG and Branches Portal” then tick “Subscribe” for the ROMP TEAP Resources Special Interest Group.
RTRSIG Practice Group and Key Area Sub-Groups
The Practice group is for SIG members (excluding current registrars) who have particular expertise (or developing expertise) in one or more Key Areas of ROMP TEAP training. Practice Group members will help to lead practice in each Key Area of ROMP TEAP training at an ACPSEM level, by reviewing submitted training materials, and providing guidance to contributors.
To join the practice group SIG members must complete a self-nomination form (available here) and submit it to the Chair of the SIG at rtrsigchair@acpsem.org.au indicating their areas of expertise/interest, for approval by the SIG Leadership Committee.
Leadership Committee
The RTRSIG Leadership Committee oversees training material development, standards and review for each of the Key Areas. The Leadership Committee will consist of a Chair, a recently qualified ROMP (completed TEAP within the past two years) and up to one Key Area Lead for each KA 2 – 9. Each Key Area lead will coordinate Practice Group members for their respective Key Area, so experience level/subject matter expertise is not the primary factor; rather enthusiasm for the role is key, with expertise provided by the Practice Sub-Groups.
Nominations for vacant Leadership Committee positions will be called annually from amongst the Practice Group. Candidates can complete a self-nomination form (available here) indicating any Leadership Committee roles they wish to nominate for in order of priority, and a statement describing their motivations and experience relevant to the role. Completed forms should be emailed to the Chair of the SIG (rtrsigchair@acpsem.org.au).
RTRSIG Current Leadership Committee
June 2025: Nominations are currently being sought for the inaugural committee.
RTRSIG Resources Cover Sheet and Templates
All resources submitted to the RTRSIG should have the cover sheet (coming soon) completed and appended as the first page of the document.
All submissions should be sent to the Leadership Committee (teapsigcommittee@acpsem.org.au) with the relevant Learning Outcome or Element as the subject line. Resources will then be assigned to members of the Key Area Practice Sub-Groups to review.
Details of any specific types of resources sought for each of the Key Areas, or any recommended templates, will be circulated to the RTRSIG members periodically.
