Beyond ACPSEM's internal efforts to promote the science and practice of the physical sciences in medicine, we also work closely with other key organisations to advocate for our common areas of specialty practice and the professionals within them.

Membership of External Groups

ACPSEM formally collaborates with a number of the above organisations for the benefit of our specialty areas.

Radiation Oncology Alliance (formerly the Tripartite Committee):
The Radiation Oncology Alliance is a peak group comprising the organisations that represent the four key professions in radiation oncology. These are:
  • ACPSEM
  • Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT)
  • RANZCR Faculty of Radiation Oncology (FRO)
  • Cancer Nurses Society of Australia (CNSA).
AIMS:
  • addressing issues of common interest and/or concern
  • making representations to Governments and other relevant bodies
  • releasing consensus statements and other information on relevant matters
  • providing advice to medical and other bodies on request.
OBJECTIVES:
  • to represent a key forum for collaboration between the radiation therapy professions in the areas of quality, standards, workforce and public interest
  • to act as an important liaison point for the Department of Heath and Cancer Australia
  • to communicate key sector priorities to all levels of governments and jurisdictions
  • to maintain effective communication between the constituent bodies
  • to make recommendations on any other work that will significantly affect the radiation oncology sector.
Peak Imaging Committee (PIC)
The PIC is a collaborative forum for professional associations in clinical medical imaging. The associations who comprise the PIC are:
  • ACPSEM
  • The Faculty of Clinical Radiology (FCR)
  • The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR)
  • Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT)
  • Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM)
  • Australian Sonographers Association (ASA)
  • Medical Imaging Nurses of Australia (MINA)
