The ACPSEM Professional Mentorship Program is designed to support meaningful, structured development across the medical physics and biomedical engineering workforce.
This is not informal advice or ad hoc networking - it is a deliberately designed program to connect professionals across experience levels, supporting growth, confidence, and long-term career sustainability.
In 2026, we are launching a pilot cohort to test and refine the model ahead of a full program launch in early 2027.
We are now seeking 5-10 Mentor/Mentee pairs to trial the new program and provide feedback on the experience at the mid- and end-point marks.
Medical physics is technically demanding, operationally complex, and often isolating — particularly early in your career or during periods of transition.
This program creates space for:
Real conversations about clinical judgement, uncertainty, and responsibility
Navigation of workplace dynamics, systems, and expectations
Development of professional identity beyond technical competence
Sustainable careers in high-pressure environment
5 mentoring sessions over a 6-month period
Flexible format (online, phone, or hybrid)
Thoughtful matching based on specialty, experience, goals, and preferences
Clear expectations and structured support
The program is designed to be high value, low burden — meaningful, without being overwhelming.
Move from uncertainty to clarity, with support that understands your world.
This program is suited to early and mid-career professionals seeking direction, confidence, or transition support.
