The Better Healthcare Technology Foundation

The ACPSEM Foundation Limited, trading as the Better Healthcare Technology Foundation, is ACPSEM's registered charity.

The Foundation aims to support initiatives in physics, engineering and associated sciences that promote the safe and appropriate use of medical technology.

At the core of the Foundation is a goal to platform and foster initiatives in medicine technology that improve patient care and community outcomes. Its focus is supporting innovations in the safe and effective use of radiation in diagnostic and therapeutic techniques that directly benefit patients throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific.

Objectives:
  1. Skills building, research and development in the medical physics, engineering, and associated sciences
  2. Safe and appropriate use of medical technology
Initiatives:
  • facilitating knowledge exchange between health professionals and the community
  • awarding prizes and grants for outstanding achievements in Medical Physics and innovative projects
  • supporting training and education initiatives in low to middle-income countries

Donations made within Australia to the Better Healthcare Technology Foundation are tax deductible.

 
Have an idea?

The Foundation is always looking to support our Australian and New Zealand membership in all initiatives involving the promotion of medical physics, biomedical engineering, radiopharmaceutical science and other associated physical sciences applied in medicine. Initiatives will be assessed on the basis of their ability to:

  • Utilise technology that improves the patient experience,
  • Deliver benefits to the community, especially those in less-well-off regions, and
  • Engender a greater understanding of the role of technology in medical science.
