Job Description


We are seeking a ACPSEM registered ROMP to develop and lead all research activities within the team and broader Radiation Oncology service. This exciting new role will primarily support the existing Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging Guided Radiation Therapy (fMRIrT) investigator led and Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG) clinical trials within the department. This role will play a key part in building the ROMP teams research capability and driving new initiatives, including projects in imaging, navigated brachytherapy, and other priority areas aligned with the departments strategic objectives. Success in this role will be demonstrated through meaningful, measurable research outcomes, tracked against clearly defined key performance indicators.

Job Requirement


  • The successful applicant requires relevant postgraduate research qualifications and a recent history of peer reviewed publishing on complex clinical practise and broad professional topics.
  • Listing on the register of Qualified Medical Physics Specialists of the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM) as a radiation oncology medical physicist or equivalent.
  • Accreditation with the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine in Radiation Oncology Medical Physics or Equivalent.
  • While not mandatory, a PhD degree in medical physics or equivalent would be well regarded.
