Purpose of position:

To complete the training requirements of the ACPSEM DIMP TEAP to become a certified Medical Physics specialist. This will involve engaging in a range of clinical tasks that are only available within a hospital setting. This will also include a research component where applicable.

The Department of Medical Physics at Westmead Hospital is seeking a Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physics Registrar. This role offers comprehensive training in Radiology, with the option to extend into Nuclear Medicine Physics over 4.5 years. As the largest Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physics Department in NSW, we provide medical physics and radiation safety services across all Western Sydney Local Health District facilities utilising ionising and non-ionising radiation.

We are looking for a motivated, self-driven individual eager to build a career in Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physics. In this training-focused role, you will work toward certification as a Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physics specialist through the ACPSEM TEAP, gaining essential clinical and academic experience.

Job Requirement


Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications:Undergraduate Bachelor'sdegree with a major in physics. Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM)accredited postgraduate degree in medical physics.

  3. Demonstrated well-developed analytical skills

  6. Ability to communicate to a range of audiences
  7. Prepared and able to work outside normal working hours to perform clinical and training duties
  8. Possess a drivers licence valid in NSW.
