About the Role
Royal Prince Alfred is the principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney and offers speciality services from its main campus as well as from Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics, Chris OBrien Lifehouse and Dame Edith Walker Hospitals.RPAH is one of Australia's leading hospitals, providing an extensive range of diagnostic and treatment services. Its specialities include cardiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, cancer, respiratory medicine, neurology, liver and kidney transplants.
This role is responsible for ensuring the safe and optimal use of ionising and non ionising (laser) radiation in both clinical practice and scientific research at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). This position oversees and monitors the hospitals radiation protection program, ensuring full compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice governing ionising and non-ionising (laser) radiation use. It also provides expert advice on radiation safety to staff, patients, and the public, and prepares radiation dose estimates to support clinical procedures and research studies.

Job Requirement
Ideal Candidate
- Holds a degree in a relevant area of physical science (preferably at MSc level).
- Possess a sound knowledge and understanding of the principles associated with the use of ionising and non-ionising (laser) radiation in clinical practice.
- Holds or is eligible to hold a NSW EPA radiation licence.
- Experience in applying radiation control legislation and relevant codes of safe practice.
