ACPSEM NSW ACT Branch update
The NSW/ACT Branch committee has been continuing to hold monthly webinars where possible to assist members in gaining CPD and encouraging collaboration. We had two fantastic presentations in June that each attracted about 100 participants.
PhD student Suzy Lydiard of Sydney University presented on ‘Cardiac radioablation: An introduction, an overview, and how medical physicists could shape its future’. The branch committee received very positive feedback about the high standard of the presentation and this novel new approach.
Dr Robin Hill presented on ‘Why kilovoltage x-ray beam therapy and dosimetry are still important for clinical radiotherapy and research’. This topic attracted a lot of engagement from the participants and we had many really excellent questions, comments and advice from members. A big thanks to Suzy and Robin for volunteering to present.
July’s webinar will be presented by Prof Paul Keall on ‘MLC Tracking: Clinical rationale, clinical experience, guidelines and future directions’. Please register via the events page on the college website to receive your Zoom link for this event. All are welcome and attendance will attract CPD points.
If you have an exciting project or update you would like to present please contact the NSW/ACT Branch committee, we are always on the look out for more presentations. Topics can include novel technology or techniques, commissioning works, research etc and will attract higher CPD.
