Job Requirement

Medical Physicist Full Time

Sieverts is made up of a highly specialized group of Medical Physicists who travel nationally, providing radiation safety consultancy and compliance testing to radiation equipment, in line with the latest advice in legislative standards of Radiation Protection Authorities across Australia.

We are looking for highly motivated candidates to assist our growing company, as it continues to deliver this high-quality service to our clients. This role will suit a candidate who:
  • Has a high attention to detail and is reliable & trustworthy
  • Is a team player and comfortable working with people remotely
  • Is competent in working with online applications, CRMs and Excel.
  • Has strong communication skills
  • Articulate and able to talk to clients with confidence
  • Able to work within a team environment where job roles may overlap with other physicists.
Position Description
We are looking to hire a Medical Physicist, preferably with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, but we are willing to consider a graduate with relevant education to perform the following functions/responsibilities in the organisation for our clients:
  1. Shielding Design Reporting and Calculation for various X-ray modalities
  2. Performance testing of various X-ray modalities
  3. Performance testing of various X-ray premises
  4. Radiation Safety Officer functions – audits and advisory
  5. Radiation Safety Advisory
  6. Patient Dosimetry calculations and reporting
  7. Other miscellaneous work when required.

This is a full-time position with a remote working environment suiting someone who is flexible and enjoys travel. You will be working from home and travelling to clients offices to perform the above functions. Travel within QLD and interstate will be required as part of the position.

The right candidate should also have the following attributes:
  • Have the appropriate qualifications to perform the above-mentioned responsibilities.
    • Hold at least a recognised Bachelor / Post Graduate degree (or equivalent) in Physics.
  • Have a class “C” open license and have their own vehicle go to our client’s clinics when required. A company car may be provided for travelling when available.
  • Have access to reliable internet in order to perform the necessary work.
The successful applicant must either hold or make significant progress within 6 months of the appointment towards obtaining the appropriate following:
  • Queensland radiation use licence
  • QLD RSO certificate
  • Radiation use licence of other states when directed by the company.
